Hanover 1000yd. Range

The 1K is open, the east half of the firing line is for those who choose to shoot paper. Target holders at 400/600/800/1000. There are benches on the east side only at this time. Long time Club member #17 William “Bill” MaGee passed away on June 3, 2018. The Board was stunned to learn that Mr. MaGee had left a portion of his estate to the club. This generous gift will be used to promote shooting sports through grants to local shooting groups.

Whittington Center Adventure Camp Essay Contest

We have purchased a slot for 1 youth to attend the Whittington Center Adventure Camp. To determine the recipient the club will hold an essay contest.

This contest is open to children and grandchildren of FSC members who have been in good standing for two years or more before Sept. 1, 2019. Essays shall include a coversheet with the youth’s full name, address, other contact information and relationship to the FSC member. Members name and membership number.

Youth candidates must be 13-17 years old at the camp from June 14 to June 26, 2020. The single winner of this contest is eligible to attend the Whittington Center Adventure Camp in Raton, New Mexico.  The camp admission is fully paid by FSC. Transportation to and from the camp is the responsibility of the winner.

In the event the winner cannot attend this session of the camp, the runner-up will be given the opportunity to attend. The successful winner must meet the physical requirements of the W

This month Hanover’s steel falling plates in Pit #1 have sustained major damage due to the use of armor piercing or high velocity rifle rounds, furthermore the new steel in the 1K range has sustained similar damage. This has to stop!
