What is this?
For questions or info call Ian Shirasaki@ (719) 359-0469 or ian.fsc@protonmail.com. If the weather is questionable please email Saturday evening prior to the match. A CMP Match at Frontier Sportsman’s Club is a relaxed way to get some shooting experience or practice for other competitions. Participation in a match will also earn the shooter a CMP Certificate showing marksmanship training, which is needed to purchase a firearm from the CMP. We normally shoot on the second Sunday of the month – please check the schedule and if the weather is questionable you may want to contact the Match Director the day prior. To participate you will need a rifle capable of a rapid reloading. Typically, iron sights are used, but sighting devices such as scopes are allowed. You will also need at least 60 rounds of ammunition (10 or more to sight in and 50 for the match.) and two magazines or clips. Shooting mats and slings are helpful, but not necessary. Sight in begins at 8:00 AM and the match at 9:00 AM. We shoot four stages from 3 positions (standing, seated and prone) at 200 yards, with smaller sized targets simulating 300 and 600 yards. Match results are not submitted to CMP or any other sanctioning body.
There is a $10 Shooter Participation fee, It helps cover the cost of targets and target stands.
