Cowboy Action Shooting is a multi-faceted shooting sport in which shooters must test their mettle against steel targets. Shooters compete with firearms typical of those used in the Old West: a brace of single action revolvers, a pistol caliber lever gun and a pre-1900 shotgun. A shoot consists of a series of stages in which the shooters are timed and target misses tallied so that shooters must balance speed with accuracy. A fun and unique aspect of the sport is the costuming and the adoption of a shooting alias appropriate to a character of the late 19th century. It is truly a family oriented sport that has appeal to all ages. If you want to give it a try or just see what it is all about, come on out and join us at the informal range.
